Lower Antelope Canyon, Navajo National Park.
I was out to shoot a wedding in Arizona and had a little extra time to hit some touristy spots before the event. I am glad I finally made the trip to these canyons as I have been excited to visit after seeing all the excellent images other photographers have made. I spent a while in these canyons but the guides came down later and had me leave due to a storm which was fast approaching. After seeing the news about what can happen in these slots when rain hits I was happy to oblige and leave the area. I was lucky to get this image and a few others before my time expired!
This shot was quite simple to take but challenging to process as I had to create an image which brought in the dark shadows within the slot canyon as well as the bright sky. Aiming my camera straight up I bracketed a few shots and put a couple of them together using masks in Photoshop CS6. Nikon D800E, 14-24 f/2.8, 0.8 sec, f/11, ISO 50. Processed with Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CS6.
